A production of
Summer of 2016. German flags hang proudly from windows and balconies lining the corners of Beirut, Lebanon. Black. Red. Gold. As a German-Lebanese filmmaker, I feel drawn to this representation of externalized faith, and invited to understand the misplaced patriotism.
As the love story unfolds by knocking on doors, the journey leads me through Lebanon to Armenian and Palestinian minorities who have found contemporary foothold in a foreign flag.
